Ludwig Classic series ,clear maple, late 70's double bass kit value from Australia? Last viewed: 59 minutes ago

Good day people .

I have a double bass Ludwig kit..classic series ,blue n green badges, brass ring ,6ply shells ..all toms are 78 ,,and snare ,,but i cant explain why bass drums, two 24 inch ones are different years ?,,but purchased as a complete kit when brought long ago ! the bass drums according to serial numbers .are 73 and 76.! 78 kit ,with ealier bass drums is weird ...mixed kit age...sorry

The bass drums have 2 seperate tom holders , going inside the bass drums ,,so its unlike John bonhams set , each tom holder, is mounted seperate into bass drum = bass drum one = one tom holder into it ,,bass drum 2 goes into it as well,,......

so to this day ,,I dont know what this particular luddy is ..seems to be a kit with in a kit !! the front on view is bass drum wise is 2 seperate bass drums on 2 seperate tom holders ,,

its more like carmin appices kit, late 70's double bass set up ..is that kit of his, a limited addition kit, his model series?? ..since he promoted it in late 70s ,early 80s? ....I wonder ? i hear ,back then ,he was huge fan of clear maple !

can some one tell me about this kit ? and its potential value?

Ive checked in Australia ..no ones, got a clear maple , classic series Ludwig late 70s double bass kit like this ..im very truthful on this ,,

Be 4, i sell it ,,i want an experts guidance on price ..its in Good condition for its age ..few scratchs n nicks and fade in colour ..other wise ..great sounding and matured and aged sound ..ready for a restoration in minimal area;s ..suit an absoulute Carmine Appice and john bonham style kit fan..

this kit is pure rock 70's kit ..and i believe it to be a collectors and restorer"s dream !!

cheers from rimshotjan..

p.s ,,He, who bangs the drum loudest ,shall surly be heard !

Hardest rock sound is gotta 2 be Ludwig ,,maybe Sonor to!..

Does the earlier bass drum also have 6 ply shells? If it is, my guess is you cannot read one of the numbers (first or last) on that serial number. Ludwig did not make these 6 ply shells in 73. If it is not and is a 3 ply, ... well ... that one would stump me. Lots of strange things happened at Ludwig that few can explain. I hear tell that in a single lunch break, Jimmy Hoffa, Patty Hearst, AND Alfred E. Neuman were seen together sharing a bagel. Strange indeed.
