Ludwig Butcher Block finish Last viewed: 0 seconds ago

I wasn't crazy about the butcher block wrap till I found this kit. Now I love it, it's got a real retro 70's look to it.

What factory inlays came on BB BD hoops?thanks

May have been answered already but mine has a 1/2" BB inlay just like the wrap itself on maple hoops.

Anyone have a favorite drum head for concert toms? Mine are huge; 13 &15. I like the Pinstripes on the 18FT and Powerstroking the BD but Pins on the toms aren`t sounding so great 'to me'. These being my first set with CT`s I just have to give it more time to get used to it I suppose.

I`ll get pics up later.

Looks like maybe Gold Sparkle? I would have thought they would be plain maple, but in tis photo, they appear to have either some of the BB or Gold Sparkle. Ask this guy:

hey, i used to play the red/white and blue bicentinal ludwig set in the early 80's. loved them, but time and my EX-wife got the better of them. i have a been playing on the new gretch ash and a tama set i own.but still don't have that good ole classic rock sound i miss.then i was playing up in illinoise on a gig and in a church ( i know play on a christian rock band) and in the bassment i saw a 77 set of b-bloc lud's complete with all original hardware and it even had the concert toms! offered to buy them dust on them and all but they would not sell them. that was back in june. two days ago some of the church members just showed up at my home in rogers ark. they had the intire kit along with some zilgian simitars.and the gave them to me. talk about WOW!!!. anyway, getting them set up with evans hydrolics and adapting them to my pearl rack. when i get done i'll post some pic's. tom sizes 8-10-13-13-14-15-16 floor and 18X22 bass. so.....do you think thats a deal or what?

I have loved Butcher Block kits ever since I saw a picture of Roy Haynes playing one. Iam a huge natural apple gloss lacquer fan so I think it is a natural assumption that I would like the Butcher Block finish.
