Rewrapped Ludwig in Black Sparkle, also have the matching ten lug maple 5 x 14 snare drum (not pictured).

Very nice! Didn't know Ludwig did a black sparkle kit in the keystone era, or have these been re-wrapped?

What does the "black galaxy" finish look like? I've heard about it, and how rare it is, and how it was only produced from 1961-1962, blah blah blah...but, what does it LOOK like? Does anyone have a link or a pic (I haven't been able to find anything online...). I was wondering if it were a black sparkle, and if this kit, in fact, WAS one...???

I have attached a picture of a black galaxy set (which arn't mine).

It is hard to get a close up look from the catalog pages on this site, but from memory black galaxy has some other colours in it such as reds etc. to give a space effect. My drums are straight black sparkle.
