Let's clear up Ludwig "Classic" vs. "Super Classic" terms! Last viewed: 7 hours ago

If you have to have the terminology written in stone, pick another drum company! Although all of them have their exceptions. I am pretty patient with it. I wouldn't diss someone for putting the Super in there.. I may put them in elementary school in terms of vintage drum knowledge instead of college.

Still I have no problem with putting Ringo or Bonham in the title. Basically they're going to have a certain value despite what you call them.

Call them what you will...classic, super classic, they are all Ludwig and all sound great! The best way to refer to them is by the number of plies to the shell and the lug style. Combo and standard series are the easiest to identify, they say so on the badge! Rockers are next as they have the black & white badge. They may have either the standard style or the classic style lug, but the tip-off is the black & white badge. All others.....well......I go by 3-ply with rerings, 6-ply, or 4-ply. Throw the new Legacy classic series in there and now you have great nominclature confusion! :D

Does it really atter anyway? They all sound great and are all worth about the same. Now, "spur-lok" hi-hat stands......that does matter! :p
