KENT WMP SNARE-What would you pay? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

I am considering picking this up. What do you guys think would be a good price.

Good shape overall. All original. Strainer is fully functional. Minor pitting on the hardware and minor rust spots on the hoops. Wrap is slightly faded, but seam is tight. Unoriginal snare wires and the badge is a little crinkled up...otherwise in nice shape.

Asking $75. Is that a good price?

Thanks!

I'd say the asking price is about right. Not a great deal, but certainly fair.

I can't tell from your pics, they are too small, but is a Kent badge a foil badge, or a sturdier version like Slingerland oval and Ludwig keystone badges?

My point being, that "ruffled" or tampered badges can be a sign of a re-wrap. You probably know this, but just in case.

Kent badges of this era were foil, so they usually got mangled when cleaning the drum. Many do not survive 40 or 50 years of handling and cleaning.

That said, the drum in question is an 8 lugger and looks to be in nice shape. Assuming the edges aren't trashed and it's a maple shell, then yes - $75.00 is fair. $50.00 would be a great deal and anything less would be a steal.

Great! Thanks Guys!

I will offer $50. Sounds like he also has an Apollo 20/12/16 set that "needs some work"....so we will see. Hoping to work out a deal for the whole pile if the Apollo is in any kind of decent shape.

Thanks again!
