Average 116 bucks / snare drum..Would you pay that much for a Kent snare drum??...It is a fine collection indeed.

$116.00 for a nice condition Kent snare is not a bad price, especially if the previous owner has gone through several drums in a given wrap, to pick out the best example.

Plus, you didn't factor in the full kits (in rare wraps) which are included in the asking price.

Lets assume he has only two full kits. One of the kits pictured appears to be the uber rare Mardi Gras wrap. I'd guess that kit alone, in nice to excellent condition, could bring $500.00 easy. We'll assume the other kit is worth $400.00.

Now re-do the math - 30 snare drums @ $86.00 a piece.

I've put together 2 Kent kits and while I know that you can get the kick, snare, rack tom at a reasonable price (between $175.00 - $300.00) that dang floor tom ends up costing you $100.00 or more because they are so rare. And I'm talking common wraps like red sparkle, blue sparkle, etc...

I've been watching Kent prices for the last 5 years or so (when I started collecting them) and I can tell you that even in our current economic state, Kent drums, for whatever reason, have not taken the nose dive that the other big names have. In some cases, they seem to be slowly rising in price.

A recent Kent 6" X 14" snare with die cast hoops sold on eBay for $220.00. That's the highest price I've personally seen paid for a Kent snare, and the wrap was nothing special (BDP or BOP I think).

$3500.00 may not be a steal, but it's certainly not a rip-off (again, assuming the drums are all in nice condition).

It the price were $2500.00, I'd already be talking to the guy :)

I'd rather go buy a ludwig set with an 18 inch bass.
