I found this kit going for about 200$. The guy says that the shells (22, 12, 16) are home made but the hardware (lugs, claws, mounts, spurs and hoops) are all Ludwigs. To be honest all that hardware would be of great use to me for my restoration of a 70's big beat but I am concerned about the lugs which look as if the chrome has worn off (I would need 14 of them). The sale is for the 3 drums only but there appears to be also an extra tom mount with the L-arm. So do you think it's worth the buy? What kind of wood would those shells be, maybe a redo of the bearing edges in a Ludwig style would make them even sound nice?

Is this kit worth for the hardware it has on? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I wouldn't. It doesn't seem like you would get 200 worth out of that mess. I may be wrong, but that's what I see.

Those are nickel plated lugs that need a good polishing. I love the one Imperial snare lug used on the bass drum......and the who knows what they are spur legs.....DOH
Stay away....very far away......
The claws and T rods are NOT Ludwig, not much there that looks usable to be honest. I'd hold out for better hardware elsewhere.....
