The grommet looks like it is in the wrong place. Is the kit the right size for a Club Date? Another member thinks this is an odd kit...?
Is there anytihng "odd" about this? Last viewed: 5 hours ago

The wrap looks like it is 50 years old, but that bass cymbal mount looks like an MIJ bass spur mount to me. The wear pattern on the top of the bass looks like so many MIJ basses I have seen as well. Something ain't right. What's wrong with those hoops? You never seen 50 year old hoops looking rather spritely?
Since it is local, I am asking to go IP to see them and take some pix so we can get to the bottom of this mystery...besides, maybe he needs a new roof...!

Oh, there's something VERY fishy about that wrap color, alright -EXTREMELY fishy. I think it's a different sparkle color that has been painted -over with some kind of transparent green paint. That's what it looks like to me, anyway.
As far as the cymbal mount -that is a legitimate Ludwig mount found on Clubdate drums of that era. It does look like a legit transition badge configuration with that size floor tom. The hardware looks legit to me. The color, on the other hand...

Check out the hardware and badge placement:

I have some MIJ that have that funky type/color wrap. It is a two layer affair, with silver sprkle, strange chip size and layout, and then a color layer on top. Not a Ludwig type wrap for sure. I noticed on first inspection but want you guys to tell me. I am not the Ludwig guy for sure, but I know something ain't right when I see it.

someone bid on it! we need to warn them!
I asked to look at it and he refused, telling me it already boxed up to go. I told him Im wanted to see the interiors and the wrap looked not quite right, however he assured me there is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary about them...so that is how that played out. No good deed goes unpunished. He will get his SNAD....
