Identifying Slingerlands with no badges Last viewed: 9 hours ago

Hi,

First time poster here..

I'm trying to identify some Slingerlands I am considering buying. I want to get a rough idea before I arrange access to look at them. They are in another city from me. I've attached some pictures. The seller doesn't know too much about them. He will take other pictures if I ask.

Apparently the toms don't have badges, but from another post I read here, Slingerland didn't badge toms until the late 60's? These certainly look nice. Is there anything I should look for? Should there be serial numbers somewhere?

I appreciate any advice.

I would leave them be, they aren't slingerlands. can you post a pic of the shells interior, the hardware isn't slingerland, that one tom mount is. but the rest of it Is not.

Thanks! I appreciate that. I will try to get the pic.

Inside the shell there will be a P stamped inside the shells in black ink, the P stands for pearl or wrap finish, but I can tell you with 99.9% accuracy the drums pictured aren't slingerland. here also is a 70's gene krupa kit . look at how different the BDP wrap is compared to your example.?

I know its been said, but Ill chime in just in case - Those dont appear to be Slingerlands :)

Oh and Vm2000 - that is a sweet BDP finish on your Krupa kit! Is that a 26" bass drum?

Ya I've seen that ad. He also has a ludwig kit that doesn't look right either for sale and the price he's asking are not correct for kit's in that kind of condition. But if your interested in it do some research on what to look for before you buy.

Their is another kit in Barrie in BDP if that's closer to you. But it's missing it's badges and it's not original as it has a swiv-o-matic tom mount not rail mount so it's questionable. But if it is legit it looks like a 1940's kit judging by the lugs. But I would ask one of the other guy's here as I'm not an expert.

I appreciate all the advice guys/gals. I'm still waiting for pics of the shell's insides, but I think I'm going to pass on these... too many red flags and I don't have the experience to be sure. At best, I think these are some sort of hybrid.

vintagemore2000, if you ever decider to sell the kit you pictured here, let me know :-)

Thanks again,

v
