hi...

i have 2 snare drums that i could use a bit of help ID'ing...i'll try to give as much info as possible, and i'll *try* to get some pics posted ASAP...thanks in advance for any info/help you may have....

SNARE #1

*Ludwig

*Keystone badge w/serial#282860 "Ludwig Drum Co. Chicago, USA"

*14" x 5.5"

*black marine pearl

*white interior finish

*dated "May 11, 1966" inside

*8 lugs

*mahogany ????? (looks darker than maple, so I'd assume mahogany...)

the closest guess "I'd" have is a 1966 Jazz Festival, but I'm certainly no expert...I'm a bassist / guitarist !

SNARE #2

*Gretsch

*stop sign badge "Gretsch Drums USA" "That Great Gretsch Sound"

*orange and white sticker inside, model 4141, serial 58899

*Gretsch Responso strainer

*steel shell, "brushed" steel exterior

*14" x 5.5"

*8 lugs

all i can tell is that it was made in the 70's....

both of these snares are in exc/near mint condition, and sound amazing...i'd just be curious as to what the "common" model names are, values, rarity, etc...(i bought the Ludwig for $70 and the Gretsch for $50, so I'm pretty sure that I did ok)....thanks again everyone !
