This vintage drummer is two years and three months older than I was when this thread first started.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

LOL - This thread should have been set up as poll. That way, we'd all get to see what a 'virtual' senior citizen center this web-site really is! Hurting

I'll bet there are more guys here eligible to be collecting Social Security than you can shake a drum stick at! Falling Do

John

PS - This is also a real 'boys-club' here. We gotta get some chicks to join!

Too many great drums to list here!

hey i resemble that remark

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

If you bought the kit new and now it's considered vintage, what does that make you? Why do people keep calling the music I play "classic rock" when I started playing it we just called it rock.

Started in '69 so that cinches it!!! Vintage sounds a little better than "older than dirt" though!

I started in 1959 when I was 10 years old. I'm almost 64 and I'm still gigging 6-8 gigs a month with 3 different Blues bands.I'm vintage and so is all my gear. I even have a few snare drums that are older than me!

That's awesome! You know, for a non-musician retirement is something you look forward to, but for a musician, it's something you want to put off as long as possible. Of course in my case that's partly because there's no pension!!!

So in conclusion, older drummers are more likely to play vintage drums than younger drummers but many younger drummers are playing vintage drums.. It still seems that collectors of vintage drums are def. older guys.
