How much is this WFL kit worth? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

So I found this guy looking to get rid of these drums in his basement, he says they are Ludwigs and they're from 1955. Green sparkle finish, a bit faded. Theres a kick drum, floor tom, rack tom, and a snare, all hardware, along with an old speed king kick pedal, probably from the same era. The basement where they are flooded a while ago, and there was at least 4 inches of water, where the floor tom and kick drum were, but the water was only submerging them for a little while. Original heads are on the drums, although they are mostly torn.

The guys wants $60. I'm thinking this is literally a steal, should I take it?

How much would they be worth if I cleaned them up and sold them?

Water damage is too big a variable to ignore. Value cannot be nailed down with any precision until the extent of the damage is known.

thats a deal. green sparkle commands a premium. if the shells are ruined, some of the hardware should be salvageable at least. these would be wfl badged drums. even a wfl speed king usually brings 75+ bucks. i would certainly get them. pics for us if you can. good luck. and if cymbals are there, that may be a whole other treasure.

Ok, I got them today. Turns out they're stamped 1958. I cleaned them up, and the wrap is practically flawless, it's really glossy and almost perfect, except for a lot of fading, the tom is pretty much yellow on one side. They're all in round, but some of the bearing edges are a tiny bit split. The water didn't do much, the bass drum just has a small amount of black-mildew like stains on the bottom of the inside of the shell. From the outside, the drums are perfect aside from the fading. There is a minuscule amount of corrosion on the floor tom and snare rim, but the lugs are all immaculate. The speed king pedal is in pretty good shape, it's a bit tarnished, but functions as it should, no squeaks. Also included was a WFL speed king hi hat stand, with severe corrosion and rust at the top where the felts are, and a WFL snare stand in decent shape. And finally, all the drums had their original calf skin heads, the top and bottom floor tom heads were in almost perfect condition, with a few stick marks. The kick heads were almost perfect, with a small hole where the beater hit on the batter head and some water stains on the front head, but still with most of the Ludwig logo in tact. The rack tom had a small hole in one side as well, and the snare batter head was completely torn across, but the snare side head was perfect.

Also, there were 2 pairs of sticks included, some old slingerlands and a pair of flawless Ludwig sticks with metal tips.

So, what do you guys think now?

I restate what others have said.....pictures please! Its hard to value something without pictures.

With that said, worth far more than what you stole them for........

Alright, I'll try to get pics as soon as I get a camera.

How much would you say a WFL Speed King hi hat stand would go for? What about a WFL snare stand? Both in good, functional condition, except for the hi hat rod is a bit rusty at the top, with no clutch, and both with some corrosion on the chrome.
