How much is my Slingerland set worth? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

hihi. i bought this two years ago and have played it off and on.

http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/fadingtune07/slingerland%20drum%20set/

there's pictures and descriptions. the flash really amplifies the wear and tear, but it isn't nearly as noticeable just looking at them. i never even really noticed until i took these pictures. but still, the condition is undeniable.

i also have these two videos to get a better idea of what it looks like set up

(i realize im nooooo good, lol)

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl_AYMc-W-k"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl_AYMc-W-k[/ame] i do not own this snare, this video shows the floor tom as well.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ayx_UpdnT0g"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ayx_UpdnT0g[/ame]

new configuration. this is the ludwig snare i own.

so in total, i have:

(all sizes, im not positive on, because i measure the rim, and i'm not sure if you're suppsosed to do that or not.)

bass drum 25x18

three rack toms 13x10, 14x11, 15x13

one floor tom 18x17 (have bottom rim, but no bolts. no bottom head. top head busted)

pulse bass pedal

ludwig hi hat stand

2 good cond. 14" unknown brand hi hats

20" unknown brand ride cymbal

broken 14" zildjan thin crash

great condition 16" sabian thin crash

slingerland two tom stand that slides into top of bass drum

one weird tom stand that has a pole that slides into tom

one slingerland cymbal stand with weighted end

unknown other cymbal stand.

yamaha snare stand. perfect condition

im not dense, and realize this isn't the best set up or in the best condition. i know i have a silly tom stand, etc.. all damage was already on it. i haven't abused it in any way. how much should i ask for it? i'm going to post in the for sale section on here after this, but ya

thank you for all of your help, and please ask any questions (for more pictures, etc..) and i'll do the best i can to answer them.

Hi! If you check the serial numbers on your Slingy badges against the Slingerland badges chart on this forum, you'll get a better idea of the age, and thus the value. There are plenty of people in the know on here about Slingerlands, so if you can find out the age from that it will help put a value on it. Also, the colour and shape of the badge is a factor of age and this too is reflected. Just take a look at 'Vintage drum identification' at the tom of the webpage.

At a rough guess from what I can see, those look like mid to late 1970's chrome wrap.

Good luck!

Tama Superstar, 22, 22, 16, 14, 13 Desert Burst
Premier Genista, 22, 16, 13, 12 Black Lacquer
Premier Genista, 20, 14, 10 and snare Black Lacquer
Premier Resonator 22, 16, 14, 13 poly creme/black
Zickos 22, 16, 14, 13, clear acrylic and snare

[COLOR="DarkRed"]Without even knowing the serial #'s, I can tell you it's a '70's kit, the thick-shelled variety.

So, unfortunately....it's the thick-shelled variety, and it's the mirror-chrome wrap. Neither being the most sought-after.

As far as sizes, you likely have a 24/13/14/15/18 kit. Big ol' rock kit. Not a bad set of drums at all.

A 5-piece w/no snare would be worth about $700 or so, throw in another $100 for the 2 original Slingy stands. The Floor tom alone is worth about $200-250 because it's an 18".

Unlcear as to whether you have a Slingy snare or not. If so, add another $75 or so.

Are the 'unknown brand' cymbals really devoid of all markings ? If you posted some very clear pics in the cymbal section, we may be able to figure out what they are.[/COLOR]
