From Mike T

That 's da fact Jack... I have a very severe case of tennitis my ears ring every min. of the day and night ... please play that rock and roll but use ear protection....

From the get-go, I was told to wear hearing protection by some very wise (and tinnitus-suffering) older drummers. I pass that wisdom on to every student I have, and my young kids have to put on gun-range earmuffs before even picking up a drumstick.

...It's not enough to put them in only when practicing or at showtime--as SOON as the PA is fired up, I have them in. I get to smile, calmly and smugly, every time I'm chilling during a soundcheck and a painful wave of feedback comes through the house/monitors, making everyone else on and off the stage grab their ears and tuck into the fetal position. After all, I want to be able to enjoy music when I'm 70, and also be able to hear my great grandkids when they whisper that they love me...Kiss

Here's The kit I've gigged with most since the early 70's. Rock, blues, country, pop and even a few light jazz gigs. Last out just last week. Of the dozens of kits owned over the years, this is the only one I've never considered selling or trading.

Early 70's Camco oval badge 12,13,14,16,22.

That's all I play, or should I say try too, on my vintage 1978 Hoshino Professional maple kit.

Mr. Mike T, That 's da fact Jack... I love it! LOL... I haven't heard that phrase in years! When growing up in the 60s-70s, My Dad would say that to me quite a bit... Wishing you good health!!! Rock on Brother!........ BowingWalking

I have a neighbor/friend who says the same thing....

So and so is "Real" rock and roll. Others aren't

He couldn't play a Green Day song at a jam last week as it wasn't "Real" R N R!

I told him to play the FT like Sing Sing Sing on the quiet part, then,on the bridge, smack the crap out of the snare, and bang 8th notes on the hats.

Sounds like Real R N R to me!

We do a 70's style of southern/country rock and this is one of the beasts.

Canopus birch nitro lacquer 13x9,16x16,20x18,24x16 kick. She sings just the way I like. And my apologies that she isn't vintage...for another 30 years or so at least!

Sorry for the poor quality cellphone pic, our studio is kinda dark.
