Just too pass on alittle FYI on the TRAK drums..Yes Jonni is right they were made by Pearl from 1985-1989 but the funny thing about it Trak drums were sold by Paiste Cymbals under the Trak name two types were made one was called the Trak system 100 and trak system 250 both drums were the same shell 5 ply with no rings system 100 drums had lite hardwear the 250 drums had better heavy hardwear--Badges were stickers both being black with all the lettering being in silver...Also the Trak drums were the lower end of the drums Paiste sold--They also sold drums under the Paiste name better shells 5 ply beechwood shells with better hardwear and lugs.Sticker badges in black and silver like the Trak drums had, these were also made by Pearl....Mikey

I have never seen the sticker badges. I have a TRAK badge that was a nailed on brass badge. As soon as I can find it, I'll post it, and send a copy to David, even though they are not really "vintage", they are out there and too many people are coming upon them and thinking they are. If we post it in the badge section with a date range, maybe people will stop asking so much about them. Beech shells...cool...mine are mahog.

Paiste? Wow....what did they call this company...some kind of sound research labs. I cna't think of it right now. As soon as I find it, will get it posted.

Thank you for the replies jonnie and MIKEY.

Sad thing is all the shells are buchered. Two different sets. One has a 14"x20" base thin no rerings. The other is a 14"x22" with three rerings. Looks like a Slingerland copy. Has the Slingy lugs (metric) with the Radio King T rods.

Lots of extra holes. Originally had a conselette mound , than a SET-O-MATIC mount and finally the TRAD.

The outside of the shells have very deep graining that runs hope to hope that have been painted many coats of black enamel. The owner says they were originally stained a dark brown, than he painted them. Grain almost looks like bamboo.

All in all I'm thinking a nice bon fire for these.

Joe

NO! if you don't want them, I'll pay the shipping. The shell, and I know this is hard to get, are really resonant. Put some heads on and thump it, I would like to have a 20, as I only currently have a 22" 3 ply variety. I will take any of these shells you don't want. They will make for great donor. The kid around the block that has the last set told me he knows another kid that would like to have his own drums, and I was given a stack of pull-off heads the other day, so I am ready to go for the next rescue kit. Pops, you haven't been around the forum long, and my signature states what I do, and I loove making a kid smaile when they know their parents want so badly to get them a drum set, but just can't afford to do so. I refinish them in wild hand laid glitter and poly and then give them to kids to lkearn, or further their education. It is my way of giving back.

Well, you take the lugs off the 20", and the toms, and they might nest OK, in maybe 2 boxes. One for the 2 bass drums and one or two toms, the other smaller box would get the rest. Let em know what is going to take. I am sending out an emergency repair part to a guy today, so I have to go to the PO this afternoon and get it gone.

OK, I need some help with my pond, anyone care to help a broken down old hippie with a destroyed back?
