I have a line on this set. Unfortunately the drum key for the slot is all that survives of the original matching snare. It comes with a 67 supersensitive. It has been recently cleaned thoroughly by the owner.

No cymbals, and no L-arms. Label missing from FT. The bass & ride are Name Band.

1) What's a good price for the drums inc snare? While the wrap is still pretty nice with only some (apparant) fading to cinammon brown, note the deterioration of the wrap on the bass drum hoops.

2) I am most concerned about the wrap seams coming apart. Is this considered a "bad case"? Fixable? Does it matter? How would you account for it in doing a valuation?

3) Anything else? (RIMS will be immediately removed)

Thanks

Is it a round badge or stop-sign badge ? Do you know how old it is ? Is it the thin, 3-ply shells or the thicker, 6-ply shells ?

is that a roundbadge on the floor tom? I have that same snare drum I like those . my guess is those drums are probably worth a few bucks . they look to me like they would be from the late60's early70's . and probably have the silver sealer on the inside which would make them a 6 ply shell. they stopped making the 3 ply shell in the mid 50's and started with the silver sealer. any how i'm kinda a gretsch nut so i would probably pay about $800 to $1000 for the set. the most valuable gretsch are the one's that have 20" bass 12" tom and 14" floor tom if you ever see any of them let me Know.

i hope i could be of some help

Sorry I was not clear enough. I thought it was clear that this was a round badge by the photo with the floor tom.

It's a mid 60s set. Serial numbers I have are 57xxx and 54xxx.

6 ply shells. This aubergine wrap color didn't come out I don't believe until well after the switch from 3 - 6 ply.

rayrazz thanks for your response but this is not a set for sale---I am looking at buying myself. I won't be able to get it that cheap but I would get that 67 supersensitive snare which has only about 12 flake off spots--pretty good shape. So thats maybe $200- $300. (Pity it isn't a supra.)

In addition to my questions above--I assume that this color wrap is on the more desirable end?

Nothing wrong with a supersensitive snare.....I actually prefer then to a regular supraphonic. The Band

Fair enough. My comment reflected the fact that someone more an idiot when it comes to tuning (i.e., me) from what I've read would have an easier time with a supra.

What would you pay for a 67 supersensitive as pictured above, assuming in good order?

If its all original and un-messed with, meaning correct snare wires, etc. I'd figure $250-$300 in todays economy, assumming minimal pitting. If there are lots of pits and flaking figure half that.
