Anyone need a faux fur drum muffler? LoLoLoLo

Anyway I picked up this little stash this morning.

Have no idea what the base drum is.14"X20". Covered in naugahyde. Got a pearl cymbal mount on it. but there's a sticker that says "Whitehall Instruments of Quality. Anyone know?

Three Premier drums. and an odd one. All this for one Jackson bill.

Whitehall is a stencil drum.

You might take a closeup of the badge and ask Webmaster to add it to the badge section of the Japanese Drum Reference Web Site as there is not one there yet.

I agree with Trevlak on the Pearl and date there. The Whitehall might be best parted out and sold for the lugs as MIJ parts- people need stuff like that.

The 68 Pearl bass could be sold as is I think. Great scores.

For info. & live schedule:

*Odery Drums Japan endorser/ representative
*Japan Distributor of Vruk DrumMaster pedals
*D'Addario Japan Evans/Promark/Puresound
*Amedia Cymbals Japan

It's the journey not the destination.

NO Please don't do that. Those Whitehall 3 ply shells are hard to find, and that one is in good condition. PM sent.

[COLOR="DarkRed"]I agree....you won't get a hecka lotta ca$h for those pieces of hardware at all.

On the other hand, one can very easily find a few more old MIJ lugs to replace the ones missing (hell, I have some I am 95% sure)....move the rail back to the center position and throw in a couple of thru bolts to cover the extra drill holes.....pick up some generic rods and claws (you may have to replace the lug inserts because likely the threading is the old Japanese metric threading and not the contemporary standard/generic threading) ....and have a complete bass drum again.

Interesting thing here is....Whitehall was definitely a Pearl Stencil....yet.....those lugs appear to be what some MIJ aficionados associate with Star/Tama lugs......Hmmmm

As with Apollo and Stewart, early on Whitehall was made by Star, but transitioned earlier to Pearl, pre-TAMA warning. The distributor got a headstart on design efficency in the early days with Pearl. In the later years, it appears evident that everyone got the same 2 or 3 basic packages, and that was all the input they had. Earlier it is evident that the US people had more say in the options and design that later, after Star exited the market publically. I also think that Hoshino had more influence and parts from TAMA than we know. It seems too unlikely that by the 70s anyone would, or could just tool up and begin prodution to the scale they seem to have had. Although they do seem to have not lasted long, I still think TAMA had more to do ith the stencil market via Hoshino even though it appears to be a different compnay. Too many design features shared.

I had a sweet old black Premier kit (double bass) from around this timeframe. This is a nice kit. Excellent sounds. Congrats on the find.
