Hi What would you do??.Today i got this email from a winning bidder on a vintage Sonor drum mount, that i sold on ebay{first email from them}..My listing said like new old stock, still had the price sticker on part from music store,it did not have the mounting screws{{sonor} But i would send them new ones along with the mount{{i forgot to send them}}So his email goes on saying that the part was not n.o.s.and they were not happy with the part. Then he ask for a 25.00 refund half of the winning bid also states I'am not sending it back I'd rather post Neg. feedback as i've already wasted enough time on this..So what would you do? Refund the 25.00 and hope he does not leave neg. feedback?? Or should i email them back saying i did forgot the mounting screws send them to them and see if that would be ok with them?? When this is done and over with i will post the guys ebay I.D. so youguys will not have to deal with them...Mikey

Never ever pay for feedback. It's unethical and is never the correct path. That's called extortion. It's just ever so slightly against the law. This country is not that large. Road trip.

Do you use the My Ebay - My Messages when communicating with people?

That is mandatory for me, then the threat is recorded directly in eBay. You can set up folders and keep track of all messages you get through eBay just like regular email.

I do not use email when dealing with eBay sales.

In this case, a 50% reduction in price is not cool at all. Forgetting the screws is also not cool, but easily corrected with good service like you are going to provide.

If the photos were good and the description is good, then this person is trying to get something out of you.

I would let him know that the screws are on the way and you are of course sorry for the mistake.

Then verify that the part was not damaged in shipping or something happened to it, just to make sure that the part was like it was in the photos. :)

If something is wrong, then have the buyer take some photos so you can see the problem they are describing.

Then your eBay policy is to take a return on the part for a full refund or you can get a damage claim and then refund the money if the part is indeed not what was in the photo.

This is why I ask about the My Messages, if he does do a NEG, then you can plead your case and also let them know you were threatened in an email which is in your My Messages.

This is one of those jerks that thinks he has figured out he can try to extort money by threatening you with neg feedback. I would not wait on him to make another move. Mail the screws now and open an extortion case against him with ebay. They have to know this is happening more and more since they changed the feedback system, allowing it to happen. Contact the Attorney Generals office, explaining to ebay that they are infact setting the stage for wholesale extortion. Extortion=blackmail, by the way. It is illegal, in every state, and since paypal was involved, it could even go as far as wire fraud, which is a felony in Federal court. Lay down the law, do not take it. Inform ebay that you are contacting your states Attorney General, then do it. All you have to do is ask them to investigate the guy for wire fraud and it is all over with. You will only have to sit back and grin. No more neg. FB, and list it on all sales from now on that threats of neg feedback will be dealt with swiftly and promptly in Federal Court alleging Wire Fraud. That crap will end immediately.

Ahhh, we know it is not damaged. :) What you are trying to do is get him to say it is not damaged and or send photos of the part.

Or better yet, he might even say "same as in the photos on eBay"

If that is the case, then he knew what he was getting. :)

Good luck with it Mike- I agree with no refund and send the screws out immediately (after taking a photo of them) Then, just wait and see. Don`t be afraid of neg feedback- you can dispute it and it doesn`t mean that much (my opinion). Don`t let them push you around.Mister T
