Guess it's been awhile since I last sold anything, is there a new

policy with PayPal holding payments in pending mode until UPS

gets a signature or something? Didn't have a pending hold yesterday

on another item and was able to start the funds withdrawal right away...

They have held my payments for a variety of "reasons". Three times when I had just started up as "random holds", no other explanation. Another time,a "24-hour hold" was put on my funds, again, no explanation. They weren't released after 25 hours, and I called them, and they released them while I was on the phone with them. I have always asked them, "Am I doing anything wrong on my end?", and their reply has always been "No, it is being done for your protection". So, maybe it is irregularities/problems from the buyers' end of the transaction.

I have heard that working on transactions from a computer other than the one you opened your account from may raise a flag of some sort or another, I can't testify as to the validity of that one... I don't know enough about that sort of thing to do so, it's just what I have heard.

OK, thanks guys.

Just seems weird to me that I have to ship my item first then get paid.

And if it's on the buyers end and my item is shipped and gone... ugh

Good thing it's just a Acrolite! Party

Question,so if you are the seller saying that you ship item first then get paid??I would never ship with out the money in my paypal account....in good standing then ship..If its at the buyers end it takes maybe a 1 or two before money shows up in good standing in p.p. account then they ship.. mikey

I think the money has made it into his Paypal account, but there is a hold on him withdrawing it, or that seems to be my impression anyway.

This is most likely the case. The money is there, just has a hold on it. If the money is on hold for an extended period, like 20 days, make sure to email the buyer and explain that the funds are on hold with paypal until they leave feedback and to please leave feedback as soon as the item has been received. Once feedback has been left, the funds are suposed to be released from hold.

Yeah, Kevins is right - It's on hold in pending until a few criteria are met -

Check the Paypal's discussion boards on Ebay, You'll see the horror of paypal nowadays. That place (Ebay) its ruined. Call it SCAM PARADISE because of:

-FORCED PAYPAL

-ROLLING RESERVES

-21 DAYS HOLDS

-FEEDBACK MANIPULATION

-ABSOLUTELY NO PROTECTION FOR SELLERS

HERE'S AN EXCERPT FROM PAYPAL'S FORUM JUST AS AN EXAMPLE: "Hello everyone, I have been a victim of paypal also, I have been with them since 2002 and never had problems until I received last week that famous email from them "you did nothing wrong" but we are screwing you and keeping your money. I have sent in a formal complaint to the U.S. Attorney General, Nebraska Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General, Sacramento Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General, FTC, BBB of San Jose and Omaha Nebraska and other agencies and I am trying the media also. I contacted paypal so many times and I finally spoke last week with somebody from the executive escalations department and raised hell and within 15 minutes I had my money released, well the nightmare continued the next day and my money is still being held. Thank goodness I had not that many listings anymore. I had never a chargebacks, no claims nothing, only 100% feedback from satisfied customers. But I still do not get the answer why??? Paypal is violating the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, also they are factoring the Visa and MC accounts and the biggest violation is defrauding us with the interest which they are collecting each day holding our funds. I found a very interesting article from a paypal whistleblower who no longer works with them, he descirbes this nightmare and I quote" if you are frozen accept the reality that this isn't some mistake that can be corrected by an email or phone call to a nice customer service person; you've been screwed, and it's no accident or misunderstanding. This company is now your enemy and is probably not inclined to do anything to help you. Never use PP under any circumstances. Ever. You simply have no control over who has access to your information."

I about fell of my chair when I looked at that. All I want is my money and close my account and I will never use them ever again. If I had known that Paypal is such a shady company and has no interest whatsoever to provide good customer service, I would never have given them my business."
