Ebay Selling Prices Last viewed: 2 hours ago

I have been on the hunt for more catalogs for the collection, but prices for some of the odd stuff has jumped through the roof.

Certain parts, hardware, sticks etc.. have been bringing in some top dollar. I recently saw a 60's Kent catalog go for over $100 and I myself have picked up 30's or 40's Slingerland catalogs under $80.

Currently on Ebay there is a Hollywood Meazzi catalog going for over $140 and to me that is amazing and I know the seller and he is probably very happy at the moment!

As far as I'm concerned if someone is going to pay that, then more power to them. Personally, I'm not on the hunt to accumulate more stuff to store in boxes, I like to keep it out, read it, show it on the web site for others and I will eventually sell it all when the time is right. This way others will have the chance to own it also.

I personally know people that have been on the hunt for an elusive item that they have been searching years for... Price to them when they find it is not an issue and they will pay whatever it takes.

It is the same thing for any collectible and or antique collector. Cars, stamps, coins, bottle tops, signs, pictures etc.. you name it, someone collects it and if they find the "Holy Grail" they will pay it.

Other then that I know most of the bidders I bid against and they normally out bid me and sometimes I outbid them. I would have liked the Hollywood catalog to show on the web site, and maybe some day I will find one in my price range, but not at that price currently on Ebay.

I'm looking for a very specific Gene Krupa pin and will probably pay more then most would ever consider for a lousy pin, but it has been over a year since I last saw one and it could be years before I ever see it again.

Well, enough of that and if you want something and have the money to buy it, then do what you want. The only thing I can add to finalize this little soap box is:

"We will not be remembered for what we own, but what we have done with our life." :D

Just look at some of the nicer vintage Rogers kits that have been on ebay lately. Prices are going up. I know what I had to pay for the Rogers Wine Red Ripple kit a couple months ago was way more than I intended. But, it was what I wanted, and have been looking for ....over three years. The kit was well worth it, to me.
