EBAY - Red Wrap Ludwigs Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Thought this was interesting, looks like a rewrap, especially with the no badges showing. What do you think?

OH.....MY....GOD.

That is one of the single-most "Frankensteined" kits I have ever seen! Not only is it NOT an original Ludwig wrap...it APPEARS to be foil wrapping paper! -like Christmas wrapping paper or possibly some kind of self-adhesive shelf paper or something like that.

Okay...*edit* Upon second inspection, MY guess is that the tom tom and the bass drum were probably originally Duco painted Ludwig drums from the late 50's/early 60's that someone "wrapped" The Nickel plated hardware is in bad need of a severe polishing. I can't tell what's going on INSIDE the shells from the pics.

The floor tom looks like an old single tension Ludwig parade drum of some kind. The Slingy snare drum might be something -I'm not a Slingerland expert so I can't be sure.

Nice pillow in the bass drum - WITH a self-muffled bass drumhead...now THAT'S gotta sound....um...nevermindBurger Kin

That pretty funny... and let me clarify, I WAS NOT CONSIDERING BUYING THIS, just thought it was interesting. And now that you said it, it does look like wrapping paper. I wonder whats lurking underneath it.

Anyway, I wish someone on here had a fair condition kit that they want to unload to someone on the list. If anyone can put the feelers out I would appreciate it!

On the local NY craigslist someone posted a 3 pc Ludwig from the 60's in red sparkle that was missing some hardware and in decent condition for $140, but the guy hasn't responded to emails... Though there weren't any pics with it. DOH
