This auction is for a rare 4x14 Gretsch Max Roach model WMP snare drum. I know the seller and the drum. This is a very rare model. The rims have lost their chrome, but that is the way most of the stick chopper Gretsch rims look since they used poor quality metal on these and they subsequently didn't hold plating very well. The rest of the drum is very nice. This is the original Max Roach model which is much rarer than the later 4x14 Progressive Jazz model. This drum isn't cheap, but it is one of the rarest snare drums around and would be an excellent choice for a vintage snare drum collection. It's worth checking it out.
