From Tommyp

Glenn!I honestly didn't know that John "Purdie" Velez was also involved in this project! With that said though, THANKS John! Excellent work all way 'round! The quality on these Dynasonic snare drum tags is just incredible.Tommyp

You had two journeyman printers on the job! Between me and Glenn there has to be 40/50 years of printing experience. Those tags were a b-i-t-c-h to reproduce on both ends, art and printing. They were done completely wrong initially by Rogers and I literally had to go against all my training to replicate the original. It was no cake-walk for Glenn on the press either!

If anyone wants to give us credit for anything, it would be, that it would take experienced, skilled pro's to replicate those tags. I'm proud of the quality of the work from both Glenn and I that those tags represent.

Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. Glenn is a top-flight pressman that knows how to think on his feet. Glenn will tell you that our trade is a 'team sport.' How good the guys are that come before you and after you in the process of creating printed material is really important. You get one guy in the chain that doesn't know his stuff and it makes life hell for everybody else down the line. I would have loved to work with a pressman like Glenn at anytime in my 22 years in the trade. He's a good man, he knows his onions and he does first class work.

Well, that really makes me want to have one, but my Dyna has a big r badge and is probably not a drum that would have had this tag. So save them for guys with the proper drums.

Thank you!

Hey John.... many thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate the compliments! And right back at ya too. Would have been a blast to work together back in the day. Much more fun then than the way things are today. I like the old skool ways but everything is digital these days.

> but everything is digital these days.

I went back to Long Island University in 94' to upgrade my skills by learning the computer programs. After graduation when I went out looking for work, I found myself competing with 18 year-old computer whiz kids from Pratt Institute, or The New School for an $8.50 an hour job. My $35.00 an hour trade that I had to suffer to learn had turned into a minimum wage job for unexperienced kids fresh out of school. 20+ years busting my a$$ in the shops honing my skills, learning my trade, all down the toilet in just a few years because of computers. People don't realize that desk top publishing was birthed on the carcass of a noble trade that employed thousands of family guys like myself. The price for easy, do it at home, desktop publishing was the death of the printing industry in the US and all the jobs that were associated with it.

Rant over...
