Is it camera trickery or optical illusions OR are these lugs and stuff off kilter as much as they appear???

That vent hole is just insane.

The lugs next to one of those legs appear to be ... lopsided or something.

Specifically, check the (players view) right side reso lugs down by the spur. What the heck???

Please check this out and tell me I'm not seeing things.

It's an illusion. The drum looks to be straight as far as I can tell....I mean the lugs. But I can't figure out what's happening with the railmount.

I certainly hope you guys are right. I just pulled the trigger on this one. I'm a bit concerned. If you were wrong, I'm mailing you my cat.

Hey Mcjnic,The bass drum look's ok to me.I have seen other W.F.L. bass drums with the badge off to the side like that before. If i recall right W.F.L had a set listed in the catalog with just a bass drum and snare can't recall the name with only a hi-hat stand and the cymbal mounted in middle of bass like that...Mikey

Thanks. I just looked it up and got my peepers on the outfit. Still can't see the badge on the cat pic, but that sure looks like the bass. WFL 20 incher should play nicely. I most likely paid too much (325 shipped) but it was the color and the time frame and the condition I was hunting. Hope it's a beaut. I've got the hotdog and the heavier spurs. I've also got some nice chrome lugs. I'll keep the originals and use mine for playing. Curious, did I pay too much? That seems high for a bass, but it's a 50s WFL in original wrap and good condition. I don't know.

Maybe a little high, but if you make that "hot dog" all-the-way, the deal will leave a better taste in your mouth !

Bass drums are expensive to ship so I think you did pretty good. The really good deals spoil us as collectors, every time we get one we start looking for an even better deal. That becomes part of the fun as well. I think sometimes we just have to pony up for something we want and forget about scoring the sweet deal part.
