Not to my knowledge. I believe Acrolites have only been made as either 5"x14" or 6.5"x14".

The Acrolites are 5x14 and 6.5x14. Closest thing to a 13" acro would be the 13" chrome plated metal piccolos that Ludwig made in the keystone and blue olive badge. They are Ludalloy like the Acrolite but with no center bead.

In 1992 Ludwig made six 4x13 hammered aluminium prototype snare drums. I have one and some were awarded as prizes at the LA Ludwig Expo they used to have at Third Encore rehearsal studios in Burbank. That's about as close as they got?

Interesting. Any noticeable change in sound with the size difference BEC?

By the way, your style, playing and sound was a big influence on me as a kid, thank you for the music. Much respect! Fanboy moment fulfilled. Yes Sir

The hammered 4x13 is higher pitched and very dry, probably due to the hammering, as I recall. i haven't played it in a decade or so.

Thanks guys. The reason I asked is because I saw this and bought it.

Just wondering exactly what will show up at my door.

That doesn't look like a 4" shell, looks more like a 5". I wouldn't be surprised if a 5"x14" Acrolite shows up at your door.

Good luck. You'll have a cool drum coming either way.
