Arrived today. Oh my. What a mistake. The strainer was totally bent and wrecked. Despite my best efforts with pliars and WD40, I could not get it to hold. So with a rubber band in place I hope to turn it over as used goods to someone who can install a new strainer and make the best of it. Dewey components are not up to par. Lotso plastic it seems. My mistake. Learned a lesson buying something sight unseen on shopgoodwill. Not their fault of course. Totally mine. At least the hard shell case is intact and good.

Yes, the sticker was on the shell so it was a Dewey . . . like other photos I've seen of Dewey snare drums.
Flipped the drum and case for what I paid today and escaped even, thank goodness. I will not buy any more "student steel snares" unseen, no matter how cheap, unless true brand name, decent components expected, etc. Lesson learned for me!
