If they are 3ply shells that is a good deal. You are right, that is not a 60s tom mount on the bass, looks more like an 80s tom mount or a japanese mount of some sort. Would be a good work horse kit for the price.

Your call. It's not a 60's kit. Looks more like an 80's or later. That mount is LATE Slingerland hardware. 200 is high for the drums. Keep in mind, you stand the chance of getting goofy imports. Some of those later Slingy's sounded good. So, it's a bit of a gamble. I would at least take the drive and look at them first hand. Check the badge out. Check the bearing edge (no hoop for a long time) and roundness of that shell. They look like metal bass hoops. No snare means that price should drop. I would drive and look at 'em. If they are worth the 200, pay it. If not, offer half and a quarter. Otherwise, drive away. That mount SUCKS! Like the Pearl - icky.

They wouldn't be 3 ply.

I agree with all that mcjnic has stated,it would make a good kit to gig with, but the $200.00 is probably full value on this mij-mia kit!!Violin

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I emailed the seller asking if the shells were 3ply with rings or 5ply, whether the badges said Niles, IL or not, and whether the badges were black/gold or black/silver. I got a pretty halfassed response: "The rings inside have fallen apart but they were there. The badges are black and silver." The mount on the BD is clearly from the 80s or later, but that doesn't mean anything, how many vintage sets do we see daily with swapped mounts? Now that I look at the pics again, it looks like the mounted tom also has a later mount on it. I would say you need to inspect these over really well before purchasing, sounds like the seller doesn't know what he has.
