You're right. Luckily for me, she's not too interested in drums or cymbals. I have an old COS Star snare that would make a great meatloaf mold though. Man, that could even feed my entire band!

+1 for Barkeeper's Friend. They sell it at Family Dollar too, if you boycott Walmart like I do.
The stuff makes one hell of a mess, but it works great. The best way to use it is in your driveway with the garden hose at the ready. The mess it creates makes indoor applications almost pointless IMO.

I recently cleaned up some vintage A Zildjians and used a suggestion I read somewhere. Barkeepers Friend. $1.79 at WalMart. Some warm water and a plastic scrub brush. Then a good towel dry and towel buff. The cymbals look as beautiful as the day they were made. I could not believe how clean and new they look.

We reading about how Meatloaf`s band cleaned their cymbals, and how to never use a power tool on them !!
It`s best to spin the cymbal while hand buffing it with cotton cloth. !!

I don't have one .But you might be talking about leave it on the stand while buffing it ..Wrong answer .never will get that black ****tt off of it that way ...
Using a buffer is quick and simple ...Pretty dam fast .You don't have to spend almost all day cleaning cymbals ..Yall might agree using a buffer or yall might agree use the slow azz hand job .LOL ....

most of the barkeepers friend's around here ,I think, are more than $1.79 .
