China or Swish Mahavishnu Fans??? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

OK... I am looking for a 60's Zildjian Swish or China that I can ride with, much like Michael Walden does during the guitar solo of "Cosmic Strut" on Mahavishnu's "Visions of the Emerald Beyond".

I have had several smaller china's in the past used for quicker attack crashing purposes, but have never really had the chance to play with a swish or vintage large china, or even hear one up close.

Can anyone give me some cool listening examples of a 60's swish, as well as define some of the sonic differences between the china, and even pangs??

Basically... tell me what I am looking for; a swish or a china??

Thanks guys!!!

At the time I remember us calling them China type - aren't the Swish's just a refinement of the broader China type.

First big "proper" concert I ever went to was Mahavishnu Orchestra with Walden on drums. I almost gave up on the spot he was so good - then I couldn't play a straight four for about two years.
