of course it could be a uk based kit for the rod stewart gigs, its very unusual a ludwig kit of that size in the uk.you would have had to sell your house to buy it! also the spare drums look like back up drums to me.anyhow they finished at 915 quid which was cheap regardless!
carmine appice kit Last viewed: 16 minutes ago
could it be a clinic set? I thought Carmine's set (which was an earlier 70s/late 60s set with 3 ply shells with re-rings) had 26" bass drums?

You're thinking of his Vanilla Fudge kit....these would have been from the late 70's...Rod Stewart era (if they were the real deal that is)
Heres a shot of Carmines 26" bass drum thats at my fried Bobby Rondinelli's basement....This is from the Fudge/BBA /Stewart kit.....Like I said this kit is owned by my friend Randy Pratt
the first sentence of the auction description makes me wonder-
"12 Ludwig maple drums, 9 of which thought to be used by Carmin Appice on a set back in the 80's"
key words, "thought to be used."
second, those front bass heads look brand new. not saying this seller is a scam artist, just saying that something isn't quite right. could they have been Carmine's drums? sure. but without some type of proof of that, at least more than "thought to be used by Carmine Appice", it's buyer beware.
I think it would've been funny if it said "Carmin" on the logo head.
