black vistalites Last viewed: 59 minutes ago

I recently happened across 2 sets of vistalites.

I can only afford to keep one, and I've opted to keep the clear one, as it is in my dream sizes of 26", 16", and 18" (however the 18" is a fibes replacement....anyone got a clear 18"?)...

I'm not too familiar with vistalites in terms of identifying years, styles, and value.... I'm just overly excited to have these huuuuge ones.

So, the black kit seems to have all original hardware, short of a winged screw in one of the mounts for a bass drum spur.

things I do know that might be of some help:

-they're black. solid black. you can't see through them, not even a little.

-they have the blue/olive badge

-the toms have a 9.5 mount, not a rail mount

-the aforementioned mounts don't have wingnuts like my 60s luwdigs, they've got a nut on each of them instead. this could be something a previous owner had down, however, so i'm unsure.

the shells are in great condition...no cracking, just mild scuffs here and there...and they could even just need a little cleaning. some rust spots developing on the rims, but nothing major...and most of the chrome seems to be alright, aside from just a little rust starting here and there. they definitely sound AMAZING from the 20 minutes or so I played on them.

so, if anyone's got any heads up on these or can link me to some other stuff where I can identify them I'd greatly appreciate it.

Also, and of course, how much is it worth? and anybody here looking for anything like this?

Thanks ahead of time,

-Alex

Hi A few questions sizes of drums and photos would help...But off the top of my head black vists are a hard sell,if your set is a matched set bass,f.tom two mount toms.snare maybe 500.00-600.00...again photos would help..If the badges are B/O Ludwig came out with the color[black]in the late 1970s...Mikey

thanks for the quick info. I haven't had any time to grab photos as I've been working nonstop and haven't even had much playing time on them.... but I'll try to toss some up here later this week.
