I guess you will never make it in stand-up. So sad. Violin

The video in your first link,....That is one of the most horrid cymbals I've ever heard.
Sorry, have to completely disagree, While it may not be a great cymbal, its a very decent jazz ride and far from horrid. I would prefer a little better defined sticking and a little less wash but the acoustics of the space and the mic used have a lot to do with the recorded sound. You have a expressed a dislike in the past for jazz oriented cymbals with lots of wash under the sticking, so its no surprise you didn't care for this one.

Hey, gimme a break; they can't all be gems.
But you know, it's just like the late great Jack Benny once said: "Everybody's a comedian; it's just being funny that's the hard part."
So I decided to try out my "test jokes" on my night-time Uber passengers just to see what'll work and what won't, in preparation for my eventual future in stand-up. But with the last group of test subjects, after the punch-line came, all I heard was "crickets" just like here.
(Hey, is this microphone working??)
O.K., so I've just got a few rough edges to work off, that's all.
And in the meanwhile with each bomb my Uber passenger rating drops gradually lower. So what I need is a drummer to punctuate my punch lines with a press roll followed by a cymbal crash. You know? Like they did in the Catskill circuit back in the '50's. (think of Jack Carter, or Henny Youngman). That way they'll know when to laugh.
"But seriously folks, I know you're out there because I can hear you breathing. But I'll tell you this......"
So now you guys get to hear what it sound like when a jazz trio invites some Chinese guy from Wuhan who's fully in the throes of a COVID-19 infection getting up and play a sax solo. O.K. here it is. It goes like this:

Quick! Put this guy on quarateen with a 24 hr. guard. He's blowing virus particles all over the place. Here's a textbook case of a rare COVID-19 side affect which is rare brain disease known as "acute necrotizing encephalopathy" in which the infected patient presents with what's been described in medical literature as "an altered mental status". And clearly that's in evidence here. He's terminal.

Cymbals are to taste. I don't like cymbals that wash out early or make bell without hitting bell.
Give me a jazz ride and I'll play metal with it, give me a metal ride and I'll play jazz with it. Moving on to the cardboard box, white bucket and tin can ...I'll play those too.
Until recently, I hated jazz, but I can't come up with why.

Or Henny Youngman's: "Doctor, it hurts when I do this". Response: "Don't do it!"
I actually worked the Borscht Belt a bit in the late '60s to early '70s. The hotels there were already on a decline because of the changing preferences of the generation coming of age. Cheap airfare to more exciting summer travel destinations than a Catskill's resort eventually put an end to a 50 year summer tradition.

I don't think a great jazz ride would sound good on metal, assuming it survived it the ordeal. I also doubt that a cymbal that is ideal for metal would be a good choice for jazz. You can play them, of course, but in each case there would be far better choices.
A Beethoven violin concerto can be played on a late 17th century Stradivarius or on a new Yamaha YSV104 SILENT electronic violin. The question is, which serves the music better.
