What caught my eye was a set of Rogers towers in silver sparkle.

Are your referring to the drums you've asked questions about in other threads?

No. I thought this was about the stash of vintage drums that was posted before in a store I believe was in Ohio.

Gotta tell ya, folks....there is something I feel I need to mention here regarding the dynamics of this thread's author, drumbum3131. This gent tends to post a lot of threads, but they are solely about finding the values of all of these used drums he finds...for his own purchase and resale, not for anyone else's benefit, or even for anyone else's information... not even for the benefit of having a good discussion on this forum.

This particular thread for instance...sorta sounds like "hey, guys I found this great stash of stuff this guy has...I can shoot you some pics if you are interested". Right ? That's what other memebers here clearly interpreted it s...and why not ?

What it ends up actually being is "hey guys I found this great stash of drums...I can shoot you some pics so you can tell me what they are so I can go buy 'em all for myself. Thanks for the info. Bye."

A short time ago...I helped this guy land an old Rogers kit which is worth $1g...for under $200 ! We spent the better part of an entire evening e-mailing back and forth...him sending me pics and me discussing what I know about the kit and it's value.

The next day, drumbum... you post this thread, I respond...and you send me these photos of all of these old drums, yes ? Asking for their value and identities...yes ?

Folks, being a good bloke...I tell him what they are, and their value...and I ask him if he can do me a favor and pick up ONE SINGLE Slingerland floor tom from the batch...for me... whenever he goes to buy these... and of course I offer to pay him back/buy it from him (we live locally to each other).

And...upon me sending that SMALL request ...he immediately BLOCKS my e-mail from his account, so all my e-mails to him now bounce back to me as "no such addressee". Have sent 5 PM's since and...alas... he has decided he has no use for me any longer.

I would invite y'all to do a search of ALL of his threads; sole use for this site is to get free info on the values of what he finds....info which could easily be obtained elsewhere with just the smallest of effort. At times I have wondered if you are even a drummer, drumbum...or just a businessman looking to take advantage of a great deal so you can turn a buck (?)

Folks of course have every right to ask about values...but..in the absence of any other conversation or even common courtesy beyond this...it's a bit manipulative, IMHO. Forums are, as such, micro-communities...

Anyway....just a word of advice...and some info I feel needed to get out there. Perhaps it will give some folks some pause ...or perhaps not. I dunno.

I don't like disparaging others on forums; you can examine any post I have made here and conclude that yourselves...but...I also believe one good turn deserves another. It certainly doesn't deserve being dissed.

I've been on this forum for about a month-plus and I love it; it's a keeper. Already I have had 4 members transact with me and exchange favors regarding some gear and parts, etc. We don't HAVE to do this...we do it because we have a common passion, and have access to something which might help a brooother out...

If I have learned one thing in my 50+ years here on earth...it's that...it all ends up comin' back to you...eventually....

Look man I don't even know you. I never bought that rogers set. I'm looking for info and values of drums I've found in my area. Is that against the law, no. I don't even own a vintage set yet. So, get of my back.I'm just love the look of vintage drums and want to see if I've found a good deal.

Hi.

I've spoken...you've spoken. In your reply I would note you didn't deny any of what I mentioned above. And actually, you told me last week you did buy 'em and were getting the Rogers this week...so...whatever.

I stand by what I say and will nary mention this topic again....just not worth any more of my time.

Folks can examine our posts if they like, and use their own judgment as to why you're here on this forum....

Thanks for responding, though; and best of luck in whatever your particular endeavors might be....

atomicmorganic... DIFFERENT ATTICS!! :)

But let me say you have great taste in drums!! That little silver set of Rogers Towers ended up in my basement a couple months ago :D ... $200 but it's really rough. I've got the mounted tom and the floor tom all back together but the T-rods on the bass drum are taking a bunch of work.

I picked up an "almost" matching Tower snare, the fade on the snare is way different than the fade on the kit (I didn't know it was that different when I bought it on fleabay).

When I get it all back together I'll put a finished product picture in the gallery.:o
