Anyone see this drum? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I took some long looks at this one because it was an odd looking snare

It is really hard to tell what the drum is and I think at $70 a very good hidden buy. I emailed the seller and the shell had no dents or issues.

What do you all make of this drum?

Here was the auction

Any thoughts?

David, the rims and shell "look" like Ludwig but the lugs and obviously the strainer don't. My guess just from the photos would be that it could have been a no-name knockoff. Just my opinion but I would save the $70 and put it towards something with a bit more interest to me. This drum has too many issues even at $70 for me to be seriously interested.

David, I agree with Pete. The hardware reminds me of a snare I got with a set out of an old Gamble-Aldens catalogue (that would have been mid 60's.)

The set was made in Japan and took a lot of TLC to make even playable. I had to repack all the lugs and everything just to keep it from sounding like the springs on my grandma's back door. I'd skip it. Just me. wvhill

Thats a U.S Mercury snare.I have the wooden model of that.Same lugs and strainer. And my metal U.S.Mercury has the exact same shell ( the stariner is different.Same throw off style just about a 1/2" larger in size ) I know i'm late with this reply but at least its known as to what it is.
