Should I attempt to fill the Rogers holes before a rewrap, or just let the wrap hide em?

You should fill any holes that you wont be using but that one for sure because its so big.

What's the right way to fill a hole that big, and what material do you use?

Well, I have many different types of hardwoods and plywood's at hand in my shop. I would take some of my Baltic birch plywood and cut out the circle on the band saw ( you could use a hand held jig saw). Cut it a little big then fine tune with my edge sander until it fits nice and snug then glue it in. Once glue is dry (Tightbond 2 overnight) sand it down flush with the shell inside and out.

I filled a similar hole in a Ludwig tom (modular hardware has a similar 1" hole) with fiberglass. Worked very well but you need to know what you're doing with the FG.

I covered the outside of the hole with duct tape to act as a "mold" and keep the FG resin inside the drum. I cut circles in the right size from FG matte then dipped them in resin and stacked them into the hole until it was full. when it was cured I had to sand the interior smooth but the tape had left the outside smooth and flush with the outside of the shell (smooth enough for wrapping). I dabbed some light tan acrylic paint on the interior and it's all pretty good. No sonic issues that I have been able to tell. Process is a bit messy though.
