I own a Slingerland kit with chrome wrap finish. I've gone through the vintage snare drum site and have narrowed my kit down to a No. 2R Modern Solo Outfit or a No. 50N New "Rock" Outfit from the 1971 catalog. I am very sure that one of these are right, but all I own are the kick and toms with mounting hardware. There is no info in the catalog about a difference in shell makeup so thats a dead end. Is there any way to identify a difference without having the original snare or original hardware?
