What's a Ludwig Acrolite going for nowadays? I got one 6 years ago for 25$ that needed a cleaning, heads and wires... It's been a great drum for me. I know new ones bring bucks... this one's an original "Student Model"

75-200, condition, year, all that comes into play. A 64, man they can get up there. And a "prtotype", with the rougher shell, 150 up, a 10 lug...250, the porices for Acrolites are all over the place. Too many variables. You can watch C/L and maybe get one cheap, but that is all you can do.

I was unaware they are making new ones. And if they are, I can't see how they could be even comparable to the vintage ones. My ears don't like the later Acro's from the 80s, when they started powder coating the shells, it seems like they changed something else, maybe thinning the shell? I don't know, but something made a change in the vintage, characteristic sounds, and even the 60s sound different from the 70s models.

Thanks BBK.

I went over as soon as I posted and at first missed them, forgetting about the Galaxy paint job. I really prefer the early ones. They just sound better. Upt to about 76-77, they sound great, but after that era, they changed and don't sound "right", if that makes sense. One other thing, and I did not spend a lot of time, but is the Supra gone as well? I didn't see it, but that is normal, as I am an idiot....so no surprise there....
