Are these worth a lot? This shell has the original snare butt and only 3 cracked lugs. Serial # is 2322. Thanks

...actually, due to the low number they are only worth about 22 dollars. I'll send it to you right away. You can use it to pick up a snare that has some value...
...guilt has set in. Truth is...that's a very nice snare.
It is one that collectors and drummer search out due to the relative low number and the seven lines. It's a second generation metal shell Dyna-sonic which was a heavy brass shell. This run of the drums ran from about 1200-2700. Yours should be an early 60's date. I would doubt that it would be later than 65. This info comes from this site and The Rogers Book by Mr. Cook.
Others on here are much better at nailing value. I would suggest doing a quick ebay search of completed auctions to give you an idea of worth, also. With ALL of this info, you can get an idea of value.
Thanks for the info and really enjoyed the lead-in - you had me going. I was gonna look for the stuff to complete it but I think I'll put it up for sale. If you know anyone looking for it please let me know.

Are you gonna list it here also?
Think its OK to sell it in 2 different locations? I'd like to see what interest it gets at the other site first.

A complete drum in fine condition goes for A LOT. Your drum is missing... Throwoff, 100-150, with the D stamp. 100 each, period correct rims. 150-200, period correct frame with snares. Original Lugs, uncracked, 25+ each. And when you spend all that money, you will have a drum that, while highly collectable, is not going to be very playable, because those lugs will crack under tension. Replacements are aprox. 25.00 each..... an additional 250.00 to make it playable. And then, we dont really know the condition of the shell itself.

Thanks P-man, I was hoping to hear from you. The shell is in good shape - a few light scratches as expected and it needs a little banging out, especially behind where the throw attaches, but virtually no rust or pitting. Do you need more pix to determine it's value?
