Great drums! I love the oyster blues too! And kudos to you bringing the younger generation (your step son) into vintage drums!

Just a killer kit and a great story! I have a similar history. Got my Burgundy kit (22/13/16) new in March of 1967. Bought a used Burgundy kit (20/12/14) in 75. Still have them both but unlike you somehow managed to loose track of the paperwork. My son played the 67s in high school. I'm a retired engineer now but have been a weekend drum warrior all my life.
ROCK ON Brother !

Ditto me too 68 my pics here somewhere
April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
