$4500.00, although I hate it whe people do this. This is a complete kit. It was more than likely bought in complete condition, and this dick wants to part it out. I can't stand that type of mentality. "I got this kit as a complete set up, ready to play, but you know, I don't want you to have it all, so I'm gonna break it all up so it can never be complete again."

I'd be surprised if it goes for less than $6500.

But, with this economy, you never know.

It's a very good deal for $4,000 - if someone is looking for that particular finish in those sizes = the smaller sizes.

And - the WFL SK pedal plate was changed to Ludwig in the late 60's.

The only reason I say $4500.00 is because he is selling the hardware off in a other auctions. I don't think this guy knows how stupid he is. A complete, music store matched, or even possibly factory matched Gretsch, for the most part, kit would bring all the money. A kit that clean, with all the pieces present from the time it was bought, would certainly bring more than the sum of its parts. My money says this dick is thinking he can still get 2007 money for Ks, and he thinks taking it apart will get him the big money, when in fact he would be better off selling it as a complete, matched kit, ready to collect dust in some collectors storage room. Chaps me.

I know, it ain't my money, I can't even sniff this set, but geez, it has been complete for the better part of 60 years...and I'll bet he is younger than most and just doesn't understand collections and how they work.

I agree with you here.

Maybe someone (me??) should send him a serious email and try to change his mind. I don't know exactly how eBay works but maybe he could pull the auction and start over with the "compete" kit.

I think he could possibly get $7,000 (and I'm not encouraging these high prices - it's just the way it's going) for the complete kit if you know what I mean.
