A recent acquisition. Great tone. The micro lets go as usual.

Oh my GOSH! I'm not a Gretsch guy, but those are beauties! Isn't that an extra-rare color, etc.?

Beautiful - and am just a bit jealous. How many kits is that now, Gary?http://www.vintagesnaredrums.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Gary, Is this that kit you were asking about and looking at a couple months ago? If so, this must be a great acquistion! Way to go - Congratulations!
O-Lugs: Thanks. Yes I don't think there are many of these around. Not with the lacquer finish (they moved to wrap) and not in the 12/14/20 combo. The nasty brass store badges at least support the kit is an all original configuration.
Dave: All my kits except for the Trixon Telstar are in the Photobucket link below my signature. I should probably consider stopping now or I'll end up in a 12 step group.
Mike: No it's not the kit I asked about a few months ago. Ms. Willoughby was showing the kit I was asking about and when I got back to her with more questions she said she had put it on hold for a famous female player along with a couple of other kits until her client could decide which kit she wanted. I felt a little put out over that and CW did not respond to further emails. I saw this kit, a preferred configuration, with a dealer that has been very helpful to me and we struck a deal.
One comment on Gretsch kits. I don't have the patience or back to deal with a consolette and a rod & tongue tom mount. It's the pits. What's the opposite of ergonomic?
