3 line brass Slingerland snare shell? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

It's just an undrilled brass shell with 3 lines, not sure what era it's from - not even a badge. Looks like someone swiped it off the assembly line - can you actually custom order a virgin shell like this? Think it's worth completing? Thanks.

Nah, just junk...you can send it to me, I'll even pay the postage...I've got some junk parts around and I can make a student drum out of it...LoLoLoLo

Heck yeah iot would be worth finishing! Put some cigar lugs on it, or some beavertails...I think anything would go with this since it has no badge or anything else to ID it.

Great shell. I believe that the 3 line series only came with the newer type lugs. Not beavertails. 8 lugs, some sticksavers and a throw and you will have a great drum. Good score, IMHO.Cool1

Thanks - I'm still undecided if not having a badge is really that bad, it almost seems like a fluke that collectors may relish kinda like a prototype. The shell is in mint condition, no dents and hardly a scratch. I'm hoping a Slingy expert chimes in here.

If you decide that it wouldn't be collectors quality, I might be interested in it for a player.

Good to know, thanks. I already have too many snares so I doubt I'll keep this. Any idea what it's worth?

Can't see from the pics, but you should check if its got snare beds.

Slingerland used to press the beds on those shells.

Could be tricky to do if they're not there.

Just a thought :2Cents:

My best guess, is that shell is Not a slingerland shell at all..More like a M.I.J. cheap brass shell,if i recall right Sunlite drums have a shell like that made in sometime in the late 1980's too 2000...Mikey

No snare beds, just a virgin shell with the 3 lines exactly spaced like my 70s Slingerland.

BTW Thanks for the tom L arms Mikey, they look great.
