1980s Pearl Deluxe cymbals & 903E cymbal effect stand Last viewed: 1 hour ago

To share and to gain some more info.

I've these Pearl cymbal effect stand (type 903E) as can be found in the 1980 Catalog.

Mounted are a 5", 6" and 7" cupchime and a 8" bell. All stamped with "Pearl deluxe"

They sound "splashy" but more "asian" but not "chinesy".

Anyone knows what they are made of? B8 / B20?

And what purpose they were made for? Practise? Effects? Certain music?

They are effect cymbals for stages and theaters. Like any triangle or crosscut saw.

They are all bent up, worse than my 15"A and 22" Sabian. So I`mm gonna guess there`s a large amount of copper in them. The HH `s I have from Japan, are Copper with some hardening metal in them.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Thanks, Copper makes sense.

And yes, they are beaten up.

Not my everyday sound, but my kids like them a lot ;-)

Well when they are watching Disney or warner, they hear all those sounds from effect instruments.
