1964 Gretsch Rock 'n Roll 5-piece Last viewed: 44 minutes ago

Hello Everyone,

I have a Gretsch kit that I am thinking of selling. It is champagne sparkle with the round badges. I put on new heads this past weekend, but I am interested in a larger drum set that I saw at the drum shop.

I have a few pics, but just note that these pics were taken when I had the heads removed and the drums were not clean.

Any guesstimate on what they are worth? I'm not trying to become a millionaire, but I don't want to get ripped off either.

I see some 3 & 4-piece sets that are sold well over $2000, in more or less the same condition as my 5-piece.

Hi.

yeah, people have been trying to sell 'em for $2500 or more...but I believe THOSE days are over.

Here's the good news: the set looks like it's complete and factory, and it has the snare. AND...it's champagne sparkle; a very sought-after old finish. Looks like all original hardware is still there.

The bad news....looks like some of the wrap hass significant spotting (unless it was only your pics).

Nevertheless, the kit alone, if no serious issues such as extra holes or chewed edges or peeling wraps or such....minus cymbals and hardware...probably has a market value of around $1500-1700, maybe a tad more. If you are selling the original Gretsch pedals and stands, add another $150 to that.

Probably depends too on the sizes; most people are looking for bop size Gretsch's (18-20" bass, etc.).

I have to admit I haven't seen many Gretsch Champagnes, though....
