1960's Ludwig . . . Am I missing something here? Last viewed: 55 minutes ago

This drum may be in good, even mint condition, but I can't fathom spending this price on one.

If it were a 20's or 30's tube lug model sure, but is this drum really that special? What am I missing? I seem to remember seeing many of these lying around drum stores and public schools all the time.

What's the story?

Well... it's got a BIN price only, and yes, that seems a bit high, as nice as the drum is. It doesn't look mint to me, but it's in good shape. I'd be surprised if it sells at $760.00 in todays economy.

The deal is its a guy with zero clue as to what he has......several things wrong with this one.....no badge picture first of all, second it has the LARGE round knob muffler, third it has early supersensitive rims on it with a later 70's-up supersensitive strainer.....its definitely not a COB drum, you can clearly see the pitting in the chrome in the pics.....about the only thing it has going for it is the new heads on it that he's trying to claiim as NOS.....they're not NOS, just new.......gotta love the clueless on ebay.....DOH

It also looks to me like there is surface rust on the hoops. He claims they are brass. hmmmm...
